Grades K-2:
Enrichment classes for Kindergarten through Second Grade are ongoing throughout the first semester. Here are some of the scheduled events for this age group:

Grades 3-5:
Students in grades 3 through 5 will be able to choose one class from the options listed below. 6 classes are scheduled.
Petite Chefs Cooking Class: In this class, Chef Vickie will teach students the basics of cooking recipes from start to finish... including measuring, mixing, cooking and clean-up. During this course, students will learn food safety rules and how to make better food choices (Instructor: Vickie Wilhite). Scheduled classes:

6. Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies
Explorations of China: In this class, students will receive an introduction to China through investigation of its ancient culture, daily life, festivals, people and places. The students will explore the amazing history of China, its ancient literature, culture and traditions. In addition, students will learn how to speak basic Chinese in a relaxed atmosphere. (Instructor: Wan Yi Zhou)
Digital Photography: In this class, students will learn the basics of digital photography. They will use a digital camera to capture photographic images of a variety of subjects and settings. At the end of the course, student photos will be displayed in school in a gallery presentation. (Instructor: Patricia Whitmore) Scheduled classes:

Grades 6-8:
Students in grades 6 through 8 will receive an 8-week course in Chinese Language. The classes will be taught by two representatives from the Confucius Institute. The local office of the Confucius Institute is a cooperative project between Webster University, Beijing Language and Culture University and The Office of Chinese Language Council International of the Chinese Ministry of Education. The Confucius Institute at Webster University provides language and cultural instruction and resources to K-12 schools, Webster University, adult continuing education programs and cultural events. Our students will have an 8-week course in Chinese in the first semester and another 8-week course during the second semester. This special foreign language course has been made possible by the generosity of the St. James chapter of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
